Much of this gastronomic heritage is based on the meals traditionally prepared by fishermen on charcoal burners at the stern of their trawlers or seine fishing boats.<\/p>\n

They would often eat cuttlefish with potatoes or even macaroni, invariably drizzled with aioli prepared using a pestle and mortar. The dishes that have reached our tables, such as fideus rossejats (vermicelli cooked in fish broth), cim i tomba (fish and vegetable stew) or burnt garlic stews, have evolved over the years as our fishermen, chefs and home cooks have added their own touches, creating what Ferran Agull\u00f3 referred to more than 100 years ago as our own cuisine.<\/p>\n

One of the most popular dishes in our repertoire of local cuisine is the fish suquet, a kind of stew that everyone makes their own way, with their own choice of fish, but which must always include a good picada (a finely chopped mixture of nuts, bread crumbs, herbs and garlic, along with other optional ingredients), added fried or cold.<\/p>\n

FRESH FISH AND SEAFOOD<\/strong> from our fishermen\u2019s boats. What a privilege! Blanes has a fleet that go fishing every day from Monday to Friday. Every evening, the fishermen\u2019s catch is auctioned off at the fish market of Blanes. From here on, you can enjoy this fresh fish in some restaurants of the city and you can also buy it in the best fish shops. In the past, fish was sold in the city centre shops at Verge Maria Square, where Es Portal arches were located. The current fish shops were built in the late 1960s. Nowadays, there are 3 stands in Pla\u00e7a dels Dies Feiners offering the best local products.<\/p>\n

Blanes has a wide variety of local and high-quality products. Some of them have a long tradition and have become a distinctive feature of our region.
\nIf you want to enjoy Blanes, you should taste Marina local beer, Laviret and Ses Vernes champagne or Coral Marine Sea Drink sparkling wine.
