<\/p>\n\n\n\n\nStrolling through the streets of the center of Blanes is the only way to discover all the architectural jewels that our town hides. Some of them are seen at first sight, as is the case of the Convent, however, others are more hidden.<\/p>\n
At the beginning of the 20th century, many successful Barcelona entrepreneurs wanted to build their summer residences in Blanes. We will find many of them located in the Mestran\u00e7a passage since it is located right in front of the sea.<\/p>\n

Today we want to tell you the story of Casa Saladrigas, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in a \u00abnoucentista style\u00bb houses in our town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Manel Saladrigas, the owner of an important textile factory located in Poblenou (Barcelona), \u200b\u200bcommissioned the architect Isidre Puig Boada, a disciple of Antoni Gaud\u00ed and director of the work of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona at his death, the construction of his summer residence in Blanes. The house was built between 1926 and 1931.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This fascinating building has a rectangular ground plan, with fa\u00e7ades on three streets, with three floors and an attic. The tympanums that decorate the main entrances, the balconies in the two corners with very well worked wrought iron railings, and the decks at different levels stand out. Seven windows with a semicircular arch open on the third floor. On the sea corner, between the first and second floors, there is a sundial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Special mention should be made of the lower parts of the balconies, as they are decorated with rows of starfish, shells, snails, and plant elements that seem to want to recreate the seabed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This house was acquired by the City Council and inaugurated as a municipal Exhibition Hall on April 13, 2003, after a magnificent restoration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
