Marimurtra Botanical Garden honey

Marimurtra Botanical Garden have 14 hives with more than 40,000 bees. A beekeeper regularly visits the hives to check that they are in good condition and collect the excess of honey.

Some of the most traditional devices used by the beekeeper are; the bee smoker to calm bees, the hive tool to pry apart supers and frames or the queen excluder to keep the queen in the brood nest so brood will not occur in honey supers.

The Marimurtra Botanical Garden honey is 100% natural and organic, with no additives or preservatives because the honey undergoes a decanting process.

Moreover, bees fly over the garden collecting pollen from different plants, so it is impossible to know where the honey comes from. But despite this, the honey is unique.

Pollinating bees are important because not only do they produce honey, but they also help to preserve biodiversity. For this reason, we know how important they are. We use the method of crop rotation without any chemical treatment and our products are organic and seasonal.
